Update March 2023
I have been told that my website is looking a little out of date and untouched for a couple of years. Very true!! I admit it…what have I been doing to cause this state of affairs?
Well, I have no excuse now as I have ‘retired’ from school but definitely not from teaching and creating. I am still enjoying my teaching each week on a Friday morning, complemented by a few workshops here and there.
As I write this I have just delivered a new painting to the Geocafe in Caversham, and am in the midst of preparing work for CAT and HAT trails in April.
The Henley Art Trail kicks on Friday 29th April, and spans the weekend and Bank Holiday Monday. I am sharing a fab venue with a group of fellow artist, jewellery maker Marianne McCaughey, oil painter Derek Witchell, and glass artist Tina Easton. PLEASE come along to Venue 26 in Twyford and say hello. All details to be found on HAT website or in the booklet.
I am exhibiting my paintings, sardine can art and cards. I have ordered in some new A3 size prints of two of my favourite pieces. Autumn View and The Derelict Barn. They are a much cheaper alternative to the real thing and come ready mounted @£60 each. See Giclee Prints tab above.
On the 14th and 21st May fellow artist Helen Ridley and myself will be having a couple of gazebos at Caversham Artisan and Farmers Market held in Waitrose carpark from 10.00 onwards. I am seriously hoping for some warm weather……
My technical advisor and I are deleting the paintings which have been sold and adding some new ones. Watch this space….

About me
Creating artwork is a joy to me at the same time it is also incredibly stressful and scary. Making Art allows me to explore, experiment, play, take risks, and break new ground. It's also a way of escaping everyday life and a method of speeding up time through lockdown!
Nature has always been my passion and I continue to be fascinated by plants and landscapes. I try to depict the inner energy of my subject matter striving to capture movement, energy and atmosphere in my work. My aim is to convey my delight and appreciation of the subject matter, and communicate it to the viewer. I hope you enjoy the results of my explorations through paint, collage, textiles, prints, and drawings. This year I have been exploring the majesty of the sea, and been inspired by the coastal town of Tenby, alongside my ongoing abiding passions for flowers and gardens. Furlough gave me the opportunity to do more commissions, particularly on slate and on paper. I was delighted to take part in the Mini Masterpieces Art Auction to raise money for a local hospice and also sold many pieces of my own work in order to raise funds for the RBH Charity. I now teach from home on Mondays and Fridays running sessions for adult beginners and improvers. As well as trying out new media and processes and developing our skills we have a lot of fun along the way. See Art Classes for more detail |
